David Shore, the Emmy and Peabody Award winning creator of the hit Fox Television series House, attributes much of his success to his idyllic upbringing in the bustling town of London, Ontario, Canada. Born to wonderful parents, Marvin and Cecile, David experienced a peaceful and happy childhood with his younger twin brothers, Robert and Philip.

In adulthood, Robert and Philip both became rabbis. David recalls that the twins did not reach the decision simultaneously, “[o]ne had the awakening and the other one went to tell him he was crazy, but it didn’t work out that way.” While the twins pursued lives as Rabbis, the elder Shore pursued the law.

In 1993, David made the fateful decision to put his career as a lawyer on hold and move to Los Angeles to try his hand in comedy writing. Of the move David commented, “…it really was one of those stupid decisions.” Well, thank goodness for stupid decisions. Without this one we wouldn’t have House.

Born of David’s creativity, Dr. Gregory House is a diagnostic genius with an abrasive manner, a limp, a cane and an addiction to painkillers. Yet, like Sherlock Holmes and Sam Spade before him, House is among the most beloved fictional heroes of our time. Despite House’s dependence on multiple crutches, including his literal one, and his deplorable bedside manner, the viewing audience would still rather be in his care than any other physician, fictional or otherwise. Millions tune in each week to see where House’s story will lead. And as David said, “[n]o one knows the story like the writer.”

Certainly, when David Shore immigrated to the United States, no one could have predicted where his story would lead. David now has six seasons of House under his belt. He boasts multiple Emmy nominations and a beautiful family. But, in 1993, all of this was just a dream and before any of it could happen, David needed a visa.

Enter renowned immigration attorney, Humberto R. Gray. Gaining his vast and impressive list of clientele by word of mouth, Humberto Gray does not advertise. David Shore was lucky and heard about Humberto from a friend.

Utilizing expertise gained in over twenty years as an immigration practitioner and his good humored, affable nature, Humberto quickly put David’s mind at ease. Over the course of 10 years, Humberto safely navigated David through the daunting Immigration system from temporary visas, through the Green Card process and, ultimately, Citizenship. Humberto’s expertise and reassurance allowed David to concentrate on what was really important: his family and his ever increasingly impressive body of work.

Everyone who immigrates to the United States has an American Dream. Humberto has seen them all: the athlete who makes it to the Major Leagues, the aspiring actor who is nominated for an Academy Award, the musician who wins a Grammy, the businessman who opens a successful California winery, the hardworking family man who sees his five daughters through college and a young writer destined to create one of the most indelible characters television has ever known.

In order to chase his American Dream, David needed the help of a good immigration attorney. Enter Humberto R. Gray. Over the course of 10 years, Humberto safely navigated David through the daunting Immigration system from temporary visas, through the Green Card process and, ultimately, Citizenship. And as is often the case with Mr. Gray’s clientele, David and Humberto no longer regard each other as lawyer and client, but as friends.
